Our School

Sandtown Middle School is located at 5400 Campbellton Road in the southwest Atlanta community of Sandtown. The school offers educational programs that help students transition from the general instruction of elementary school to the highly focused instruction in high school.

Sandtown Middle School is a Candidate School* for the MYP. This school is pursuing authorization as an
IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Sandtown Middle School believes is important for our students. 

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary
Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related

Additionally, the school offers various clubs, intramural sports, and extramural teams to round out students' learning opportunities. Clubs include student government, Beta club, Junior Engineering Technological Society, and numerous others. Students also can take part in connections courses such as band, chorus, dance, orchestra, art, and computer literacy. Sandtown's budding athletes can participate in volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis and track.

Sandtown has an excellent experienced teaching staff from near and far, superior leadership, and parental involvement enhance the learning community at Sandtown Middle School.
